8:o (about 225x140 mm.; box about 245x160x105 mm.). Engraved frontispiece, engraved extra title with vignette and 40 engraved plates Phiz (H. K. Browne (all, partly with browning / foxing).
Original blue printed wrappers designed by Phiz (H. K. Browne), slightly worn with some small damages at foot of spine or in a few outer margin, some spotting, first part with some spotting and small tear to upper wrapper. Partly untrimmed. Text with some minor spotting. All housed in a later green cloth clamshell box, partly worn, gilt title with year 1852-53, small number to one corner.
With the word "elgble” instead of “eligible” on page 19, line 6 (part 1), part 3 back slip for "Crochet Cotton.
