I. 23.2 x 16.3 cm, 24.0 x 17.0 cm.

According to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, which has another impression of this scarce etching, "This print is from a series depicting The Seven Mercies made by François Hutin [his father] presumably during his stay in Rome, from 1737 to 1742. His facility with the etching needle is evident in the expressive forms of the figures and the mastery of light effects. PROVENANCE
