This engraving depicts the return of the Holy Family to Nazareth, where Christ, having fled the fury of King Herod as an infant, now returns from Egypt as an older child.

Jonathan Blackburne (England 1721-1786), with the inscription and dated 1786 in ink verso (Lugt 262); The collection of Engineer and Major Frank Bensow (1883-1969), with the ink stamp verso (Lugt 982c).
