Of rectangular form with canted corners, the interior tray is finely decorated with the ‘Three Friends of Winter’ pine, prunus and bamboo issuing from rock work in a mountainous landscape with figures on a stone bridge and an eight line poetic inscription, the shallow sides with fruiting branches of peaches on the interior, and oval panels depicting `the three friends of winter' reserved on diaper work on the exterior sides, raised on four low canted supports, the glazed back with numerous prunts and inscribed in the centre with a six character mark of Jiaqing in underglaze blue. Period: Jiaqing mark and of the period (1796‑1820). Length c. 37 cm.
