The compressed globular body raised on three short feet, set with two loop handles, the base with an apocryphal mark cast in relief. Period: Qing dynasty, 17/18th century. Width across handles c. 20 cm. Weight c. 1837 gram.
Provenance:
The Swedish Diplomat Eric von Post (1899 - 1990). Thence by descent to the daughter Margaretha von Post (1939 - 2018), then to the present owner. Eric von Post stayed in Hong Kong during the 1960s and might have purchased the censer then.
