Beskrivning
With a rounded bowl and domed cover, supported by three cabriole legs, two loop handles on each side, three loop handles on the cover, the bronze with a green patina and encrustation. In the style of the Warring States Period. Length c. 20.5 cm, height: 14.5 cm.
This type of vessel has been called ding by some scholars and dui by others. It is likely derived from the early type of ding, but became a serving rather than cooking vessel in the Warring States period.
Provenance:
Swedish ambassador Torsten Brandel (1912-1989), acquired whilst Swedish counsel in Hong Kong 1954-1958, thence by descent.
