Beskrivning
The figure seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus throne, the top of the throne with a Tibetan incription 'This statue is made for the deceased (woman) Logus' and a blessing together with the number 564, the hands in dharmachakra mudra, both hands and feet with incised dharmachakra wheels, a symbol for teaching, wearing a brocade-hemmed dhoti and a shawl draped over the left shoulder revealing a bare chest, the back of the clothes decorated with a square tag with an incised double vajra, the serene facial expression accentuated by red, white, and black pigments at the lips and eyes, pendulous ears at either side of the face, the hair twisted in tight curls covering the scalp and ushnisha, a bud-form ornament atop the ushnisha, traces of blue pigment in the hair, the throne sealed. Period: 18th century. Height c. 27 cm.
